|We found an alive but un-moving crab on the beach!|
Our week started off with a couple field trips. Monday, my mom came down and we explored some of the local farms, markets, and pumpkin patches. It was a gorgeous fall day (although a bit chilly) and we had a lot of fun. Tuesday, we headed with my mom to the Oregon Coast! It was cold, but it was still the beach!
We also checked out the Lewis & Clark Salt Works. This site is where Lewis & Clark boiled sea water to extract the salt. The salt was used to cure and preserve meat for their journey home. There is a lot of Lewis & Clark history in the area (it is where they spent the winter!) and I look forward to exploring it more with Bug!
The rest of the week we focused on getting the kinks worked out of our schedule. I had originally planned on using this week for planning instead of school, but I really wanted to jump into a routine. So the school side was a little light, but we're learning what works and what doesn't.
This afternoon, I'm making Cinnamon Sugar Apple Cake to take to Growth Club (Bible Study). I am also going to attempt some organization of the pantry. It's about time that all the food is out of boxes, don't you think?
