In my life this week…
Just a simple life with not much extra happening. Monday night I had a Mom's Support Meeting with a few other moms from our local group. It's always so refreshing and I'm looking forward to another year of getting together!
I've also started up an online Bible Study with some friends. We are studying through the Beatitudes and the first week was on being Poor in Spirit. It's already given me a lot to think about!
In our homeschool this week…
This week we read about Isabella & Ferdinand from Spain and Henry the Navigator from Portugal. We really enjoyed Isabella of Castile: Queen on Horseback. I have a few books on Henry the Navigator we'll be reading this week before we dive into the next chapter.
We've been chugging along in all our other subjects. Bug is doing a great job of self-starting which is fabulous. He is actually doing all his subjects, which is a big change from last year.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
Get together with other moms! Even if it isn't very often, it's very uplifting to have others going through the same challenges!
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
We participated in our local group's art class on Friday. The kids learned about Pablo Picasso and cubism before trying their hand at some Picasso inspired art. Bug really enjoyed it and has created more of the same style art work!
My favorite thing this week was…
A quiet evening at home with the hubby when Bug went to Meme's house.
My kiddo's favorite thing this week was...
Friday art class.
Questions/thoughts I have…
The more we expect from our children, the more they give us!
Things I’m working on…
Getting myself on a routine. Bug has taken to his school routine pretty well, I just need to figure out what I need to do!
I’m reading…
I finished up The Fourth Kingdom this week and Mistborn yesterday. I'll be starting in on The Force this week! Expect a review soon!
Bug is reading…
He read The Whipping Boy {assigned reading that carried over into free reading} and Alcatraz versus The Knights of Crystallia. If you have a kiddo who enjoys funny and fantasy, check out the Acatraz series. It causes much laughing out loud from Bug.
I’m grateful for…
Football, friends, coffee, chocolate. A hardworking hubby. A sweet kiddo. The freedom to homeschool. God's Word.
